The Jolynria system was located in the Atravis sector[3] of the Outer Rim Territories[1] and Western Reaches[2] in grid square L-20 of the Standard Galactic Grid.[1] It was the origin point of the Old Jolynrian language.[4][5]

Behind the scenes

The Jolynria system was first mentioned in Pablo Hidalgo's 2025 reference book Star Wars: The Acolyte: The Visual Guide on a galaxy map authored by Jason Fry and Christopher Ibbitt.[1] The October 14, 2025 update to[6] "Star Systems of the Galaxy," an appendix published with the Star Wars Galaxy Map on StarWars.com[3] on June 24 of the same year—with both works being authored by Fry[7]—subsequently identified the system by name.[3]

The Essential Atlas and Galactic Cartography: Official Discussion (post by jasonfry) on the Jedi Council Forums' Literature board (December 11, 2007): "I wouldn't get your hopes up re alien homeworlds, beyond simple stuff like the Planetnamian species getting a Planetnamia on the map or things Dan and I can account for with a relatively quick reference." (backup link) (screenshot) Jason Fry, co-author of The Essential Atlas and a number of maps in the current Star Wars canon (see a list here), stated his intention to create homeworlds for numerous species based on context implied from their names. Given this principle, this article makes a similar basic assumption for Old Jolynrian in relation to the Jolynria system.
