Jogan fruit pie

Jogan fruit pie was a type of pie that was made from jogan fruit. The pie was purple and was known to be sweet. Sometime during or after 34 ABY, the Galactic Society of Creature Enthusiasts safari droid SF-R3 used a jogan fruit pie in an attempt to tame a tauntaun on the planet Hoth, to use as footage for his HoloNet program.

Description

Jogan fruit pie was a circular-shaped pie that appeared dark purple on the outside and light purple on the inside. The pie was wrapped in a light brown covering for holding and it was known for being sweet. The pie was made from jogan fruit,^[1] a round, purple fruit^[2] that grew on jogan trees^[3] and in orchards on the planet Lothal.^[2] Jogan fruit was also the main ingredient of similar dishes, such as jogan fruitcake^[4] and the jogan fruit tart.^[5] Tauntauns,^[1] large reptomammals^[6] native to the planet Hoth,^[7] found jogan fruit pie irresistible and enjoyed eating them.^[1]

History

During or after 34 ABY,^[8] the Galactic Society of Creature Enthusiasts,^[1] an organization dedicated to studying species throughout the galaxy,^[9] sent the safari droid SF-R3 "Aree" and the cam droid CAM to the planet Hoth^[1] in the Outer Rim territories^[10] to discover how to tame a tauntaun. When Aree was on Hoth, he was recorded by CAM,^[1] who would later distribute the footage on the HoloNet.^[9]Aree then picked up a jogan fruit pie and explained that it was known to be as sweet as tauntauns. After two failed attempts at riding a tauntaun, one of which involved placing a saddle on the creature, Aree used a pair of macrobinoculars to observe several tauntauns eating lichen in a cave, and he got an idea on how to ride a tauntaun. He cut a slice of the pie and tied it around a string which he attached to a hook. Aree then got on the saddle on the tauntaun's back when it was easy eating, and he then took out the hook and let the slice dangle in front of the creature's eyes. The tauntaun ran forward in an attempt to eat the slice, causing Aree to hit a stalictite and fall off. The tauntaun then started eating the whole pie. Outside the cave, the creature continued eating while Aree told CAM that tauntauns aren't always sweet, but they love eating jogan fruit pie and receiving chin scratches.^[1]

Jogan fruit pie first appeared in "Tauntaun," the final episode of the webseries Star Wars Galaxy of Creatures,^[1] which was released on November 18, 2021.^[11]
