Jance was a member of the Guardians of the Whills religious group during the High Republic Era.[1] In 382 BBY,[3] Jance was stationed at the Second Spire in the Holy City of the moon Jedha alongside other Guardians of the Whills, who guarded the building while it held a peace summit between the warring Outer Rim planets Eiram and E'ronoh. When an explosion in the Spire injured Eirami Ambassador Lian Cerox, Jance, alongside other Guardians including Selik and Barruk, ran to her aid. When they arrived, Selik instructed Barruk and Jance to help and protect Jedi Master Creighton Sun as he escorted Ambassador Cerox to the Spire's medical station.[1]

Behind the scenes

Jance appeared in the audio drama The High Republic: The Battle of Jedha, written by George Mann[2] and released on January 3, 2023 as part of the Star Wars: The High Republic multimedia initiative's Phase II.[4] The exact spelling of the character's name was unconfirmed until the release of the audio drama's script[1] on February 14 that year.[4]
