Biography
Valarian's lover
J’Quille was a Whiphid hunter who lived[1] and was born on[2] the planet Toola.[1] He was a lover of the Whiphid crime lord Lady Valarian, who owned the Lucky Despot, a highly successful nightclub on the planet Tatooine.[4] She was the main rival[1] of Jabba Desilijic Tiure, a Hutt crime lord who also operated on Tatooine.[4] Valarian constantly plotted to have the Hutt killed, using J'Quille as her main assistant in these endeavors. Valarian, however, realized she would be killed should any assassination attempts be traced back to her.[5] The two Whiphids staged a falling out and breakup which led to Jabba employing the former as[3] a bounty hunter[1] to gall Valarian.[3]
J'Quille was given his own quarters in Jabba's Tatooine palace, located near the pit of Jabba's rancor.[4] He spied on the Hutt and planned his death[1] through the kitchen boy Phlegmin,[4] whom the Whiphid bribed[5] to put slow-acting poison in Jabba's snack tank of toads.[4] By 4 ABY,[6] The poison began to take effect, and Jabba started to suffer from indigestion.[5] In that year,[6] J'Quille received an anonymous blackmail note that showed his bribes to Phlegmin. The Whiphid hunter paid a sum of ten thousand credits to the blackmailer, who was actually Phlegmin.[4]
Palace arrivals
Two days later,[7] J'Quille was present inside the throne room of the Palace,[8] chatting with the Yakora Saelt-Marae[9] in a booth when two droids, C-3PO and R2-D2 were led into the room by Jabba's majordomo Bib Fortuna. R2-D2 displayed a holographic message of Jedi Knight Luke Skywalker for Jabba, in which Skywalker bargained for the release of the smuggler Han Solo, who was being kept frozen within carbonite in the palace. The Hutt declined the offer, and the two droids were taken down to[8] Cyborg Operations.[10]
Shortly after, J'Quille was again in the throne room, sitting in a booth behind the[8] Elom Tanus Spijek[11] while the Max Rebo Band the dancing girl Oola preformed. Jabba demanded that Oola, repeat her performance. However, Joh Yowza, a singer for the Max Rebo Band, thought Jabba was demanding him to preform again and the band performed again. When Oola was fed to Jabba's rancor for refusing to sit with him,[12] J'Quille cheered and raised his arms, but did not get up to look at Oola get eaten.[12]
As several court members watched Oola's death, the sudden sound of blaster fire rang from the main entrance of the palace. Princess Leia Organa, disguised as the bounty hunter Boushh, and her captive, Wookiee smuggler Chewbacca entered and faced Jabba. Organa announced she had come for the bounty on the Wookiee and then brandished an activated thermal detonator when her request for more credits from Jabba was denied, causing[12] J'Quille[8] and several others in the throne room to take cover. After a tense silence fell on the throne room, Jabba agreed to pay a larger amount and Organa deactivated the detonator.[12] Gamorrean guards Ortugg and Rogua then took the Wookiee away down to the palace dungeons.[13]
J'Quille with other members of Jabba Desilijic Tiure's criminal empire
Later, J'Quille got an anonymous message from someone who claimed to know who was behind the blackmailing, who told him to meet them on the citadel roof at sunfall. On his way to meet this stranger he noticed a shifty B'omarr Monk whom he'd seen near the kitchen when Phlegmin was found dead. Unbeknownst to J'Quille, the corrupt, embodied monk was working for Lady Valarian and had been trying to inform J'Quille that Phlegmin was in fact the blackmailer. However, J'Quille misinterpreted Valarian's comment about a B'omarr monk, and believed that the monk had been blackmailing him. After a misunderstanding, the Whiphid hunter stabbed the monk with his vibro-blade, which had been a gift from Lady Valarian in the first place.
In the monk's hands was the thermal detonator used by Princess Leia Organa (as Boushh). He planned to make up for his mistakes to Valarian by planting the detonator on Jabba's sail barge, but it was soon stolen from him by Bib Fortuna. After Jabba's death, J'Quille attempted to return to Toola, only to discover that Lady Valarian had put a huge bounty on his head if he ever left the planet Tatooine. With nowhere else to go, he returned to Jabba's Palace and joined the B'omarr Monks having his brain removed from his body.
