- "We weren't expecting Special Forces."
"That's the point, Sergeant." - ―A stormtrooper and Gideon Hask of Inferno Squad during the Battle of Endor
Imperial Special Forces troopers,[7] also known as Imperial Special Forces commandos,[3] were highly trained soldiers of the Galactic Empire who specialized in infiltration, extraction, and combat in various types of environments.[1] These commandos served within the Imperial Special Forces,[3] the Imperial Navy's special-forces branch,[4] and Imperial Security Bureau.[2] One such unit was Inferno Squad under the leadership of Commander Iden Versio.[1]
History
Two ISF troopers of Inferno Squad in battle
Trained in infiltration, extraction, and combat in any type of environment, special forces troopers are tasked with the completion of specialized stealth missions such as retrieving vital intelligence, sabotage on key targets, or burying Imperial secrets through assassination.[1]
Inferno Squad was a notable example of one such unit. They became a recognized unit through their notorious, unconventional tactics.[1]
Equipment
They were adept in a wide array of weaponry, but usually armed themselves with an E-11 medium blaster rifle, DLT-19x targeting blaster, or a T-21 light repeating blaster.[1]
