Imperial Replenishment Fleet DK-209 was a refueling fleet within the navy of the Galactic Empire. The Field Secured Container Vessel Black Ice was crucial to the fleet's operations, an enormous fueling starship that was used to transport around a billion tonnes of fuel, enough to supply an Imperial battle fleet for over one year. It also contained at least several TIE/LN starfighters and another model of starship. During the Galactic Civil War, the Rebel Alliance attacked and took control of the Black Ice, in order to compensate its lost Choah asteroid belt fuel refinery. Taken under assault from rebel starfighters, the ship was later destroyed in a collision.[1]
Behind the scenes
Imperial Replenishment Fleet DK-209 was introduced in the current Star Wars canon in the thirty-fourth issue of De Agostini's Star Wars: Build the Millennium Falcon magazine series,[1] published around August 26, 2015.[2] In the Star Wars Legends continuity, the replenishment fleet was originally introduced in Black Ice, a 1990 adventure book authored by Paul Murphy and Bill Slavicsek for West End Games' Star Wars: The Roleplaying Game series.[3]
