For other uses, see Black Ice.

Black Ice was the name of a train of two Field Secured Container Vessels containing nine linked force-field fuel spheres that was used by the Galactic Empire's Imperial Navy. Black Ice was manufactured by Rendili StarDrive and was assigned to the Imperial Replenishment Fleet DK-209 as a key part of the support fleet. Black Ice was roughly five Imperial-class Star Destroyers in length, and each fuel sphere could hold 110 million tons of fuel each, in total nearing one billion tons of starship fuel. The quantity was enough to supply a full Imperial battle fleet for one year.[1]

Black Ice was stolen by the Alliance to Restore the Republic after the destruction of the Choah Belt fuel refinery by the Empire, although Black Ice was later destroyed in a collision.[1]

According to StarWars-DatabankII Imperial Star Destroyer in the Databank (backup link), both submodels of the class are 1,600 meters in length, therefore Black Ice was around 8 kilometers in length.
