- "A'ranni is in the heart of the Badlands and on our relief route. Mostly iazacal farms. But since the drought, the war, and more drought, production all but stopped."
- ―Xiri A'lbaran, to her colleagues
Iazacal trees were a type of tree found in the Badlands region of the Outer Rim planet E'ronoh that were grown by E'roni villagers as an iazacal farm export. The trees shared their name with iazacal liquor, an alcoholic beverage available on the world during the High Republic Era. When E'ronoh went to war with the Outer Rim planet Eiram[1] in 387 BBY,[2] iazacal production stalled due to the conflict and a drought that had started.[1]
While traveling across E'ronoh on the sail barge Amaryliss to deliver aid to E'roni citizens[1] in 382 BBY,[2] Princess Xiri A'lbaran pulled up a hologram of the A'ranni village's region on their route to show her colleagues—Jedi Knight Gella Nattai, Republic envoy Axel Greylark, and Eirami Prince Phan-tu Zenn—mentioning how the area had mainly farmed iazacal before the war, but had since ceased. As their barge approached A'ranni, they noticed the nearby iazacal trees appeared dry and lifeless due to the world's drought.[1]
