Holowan Mechanicals was a division of Holowan[4] that manufactured arms[3] and droids.[4] Together with Holowan Laboratories,[7] it developed the controversial IG-series of enforcer and security droids,[3] as well as a line of assassin droids[8][5][6] that was largely outlawed in the galaxy.[9] The division perfected[10] and manufactured electrostaffs to arm their IG-100 MagnaGuards with.[3]
Between 2 BBY and 4 ABY,[11] grand-engineer Lony Coleema of the Order of the Sight Voltaic was kidnapped by the assassin droid IG-88B and brought to the Holowan droid foundry, which was abandoned by that time. Upon waking up and seeing the state of the factory, Coleema assumed that the corporation was out of business.[2]

- ↑ "A Rebel Bounty" takes place after Alexsandr Kallus's betrayal in "Zero Hour" but before Jabba's death in Star Wars: Episode VI Return of the Jedi, which Star Wars: Galactic Atlas dates to 4 ABY. Star Wars: Battles that Changed the Galaxy places the events of "Zero Hour" seventeen years after the formation of the Galactic Empire, which occurred in 19 BBY according to Galactic Atlas, meaning that "Zero Hour" takes place in 2 BBY, and "A Rebel Bounty" takes place between 2 BBY and 4 ABY. Therefore, the foundry must have been created by 4 ABY.
