Grand-engineer was a title held by individuals who had a very special understanding of technology. The female Lony Coleema of the Order of the Sight Voltaic became a grand-engineer[2] by 4 ABY. Between 2 BBY and 4 ABY,[1] Jabba the Hutt's majordomo, Bib Fortuna,[3] announced that a bounty had been placed on Coleema's head, and the IG-88 assassin droid[2] IG-88B[4] replied by saying that grand-engineers had not been seen in the galaxy for decades.[2]

Behind the scenes

A grand-engineer appeared in "A Rebel Bounty," a short story published in the Star Wars Adventures Annual 2020 comic book. The story was authored and illustrated by Nick Brokenshire and published by IDW Publishing[2] on November 18, 2020.[5]
