- "I can reach out to other worlds with energy-rich resources. Can you send me data on Hofsgut, Madurs, Inusagi, let's see…"
- ―Leia Organa, to Nioma
Hofsgut was a world with energy-rich resources[3] that was located in the Hofsgut system within the Hewett sector of the Mid Rim[1] and The Slice.[2] It was situated in grid square M-7 of the Standard Galactic Grid.[1] During the Imperial Era, it was led by a president, who Princess Leia Organa established a connection with during a visit to Hofsgut[3] by 4 ABY.[4]
That year,[4] Organa requested Rebel Intelligence Major Nioma provide her with data on Hofsgut so that she could reach out to the president about siding with the forming New Republic because of the world's energy-rich materials. From the data, the princess learned that Hofsgut had either remained independent or at minimum had been forced into a financial agreement with the Galactic Empire. Organa subsequently sent a holomessage to the president and was reasonably confident she could convince them to side with the Republic. In her message, the princess spoke at a personal level with the president because of their established connection.[3]
Behind the scenes
