- "So uncivilized."
- ―Obi-Wan Kenobi, after killing General Grievous with the Grievance Striker
The "Grievance Striker," also known as the "Annihilator," was a custom DT-57 "Annihilator" blaster owned by General Grievous, the Supreme Commander of the Separatist Droid Army during the Clone Wars. During the battle of Utapau, Jedi General Obi-Wan Kenobi shot Grievous with the Grievance Striker, ironically killing the cyborg owner and general with his own weapon.
Description
The Grievance Striker,[3] also known as the "Annihilator," was a custom version of the standard BlasTech Industries DT-57 model[1] owned by General Grievous.[5] The heavily modified blaster rifle used in ranged warfare featured firepower thanks to an extra charger, a high-output magazine,[2] a precision targeting scope, and a grip adapted to the wielder's fingers.[1]
History
Grievous firing his DT-57 "Grievance Striker."
Apart from an expanding collection of stolen lightsabers, Grievous also employed his custom blaster rifle,[1] the Grievance striker,[3] utilizing all of the technology at his disposal.[6] He strategically placed[7] his DT-57 "Annihilator" blaster rifle[1] on his modified TSMEU-6 personal wheel bike. During the Battle of Utapau, Grievous drew his custom DT-57 blaster rifle from his wheel bike and fired few shots but Obi-Wan Kenobi dodged. Grievous lost control of the bike during the struggle, flinging the two combatants off before the bike flew off into one of Utapau's countless bottomless abysses and exploded on collision with the ground deep below. Having arrived at the landing platform, both opponents recovered quickly and engaged in hand-to-hand combat, with Grievous making use of his mechanical body's superior strength. However, during the fight, Kenobi managed to rip open Grievous' chest-plates, revealing Grievous' synthskin containing his remaining organs. As Grievous charged Kenobi with an electrostaff, preparing to finish off his old adversary, Kenobi used the Force to summon Grievous' blaster and repeatedly shot Grievous in his exposed gut-sack five times, incinerating the legendary cyborg from the inside and eventually destroying him.[5]
