Grass cricket

A grass cricket was a type of cricket that lived in grass.^[1] In 382 BBY,^[2] while Jedi Padawan Kevmo Zink headed toward a river valley on the Outer Rim planet Dalna alongside his Master—Jedi Master Zallah Macri—he noticed there was a funny buzz, which he mentally guessed was some sort of grass cricket. Zink then wondered if he would be on Dalna long enough to learn the names of the planet's wildlife. Several days later, the Padawan and his Master were both killed by the Path of the Open Hand cult that resided on Dalna.^[1]

Behind the scenes

A grass cricket was mentioned in the 2022 young-adult novel The High Republic: Path of Deceit, written by Justina Ireland and Tessa Gratton as part of the Star Wars: The High Republic multimedia project's^[1] Phase II.^[3]
