A Gondar tusk mask was a type of helmet. It was a light helmet that included protective metal plates mostly covered by leather as well as a peaks in the front and back to protect against the sun. It had a jaw like visor that protected the wearer's face as well as helping to conceal their identity.[3] This section included tusks[4] from a species called Gondar.[2]
In 10 BBY,[5] Tobias Beckett wore a suit of Tantel armor with a Gondar tusk mask while posing as a guard for Qi'ra during a Coaxium heist on Kessel in the Outer Rim Territories.[6]
In 0 ABY,[5] Luke Skywalker and Leia Organa disguised themselves with Tantel armor and Gondar tusk mask as guards for Han Solo while he was claiming to be a emissary of Jabba Desilijic Tiure at a meeting on the moon Cymoon 1.[7]
In 3 ABY,[8] the scoundrel Kay Vess found a Gondar tusk mask in a container aboard the Trailblazer, an EML-850 light freighter that she stole from Sliro Barsha's Westhill Palace in Canto Bight.[2]
During the same year,[5] Lando Calrissian wore a Gondar tusk mask and Tantel armor to infiltrate Jabba's palace on the desert planet Tatooine with his friend Lobot in order to seek help from a Autonomous Translator Module, Mark II droid regarding Lobot's implants.[9] A year later in 4 ABY,[5] Calrissian used the same disguise while working undercover at Jabba's palace to help rescue his friend Han Solo from Jabba. He continued to wear the disguise and act as a guard when Solo, Luke Skywalker, and Chewbacca were sentenced to be executed at the Great Pit of Carkoon, a Sarlacc located in the Dune Sea on Tatooine.[1]

Gondar tusk masks first appeared though unidentified in the 1983 film Star Wars: Episode VI Return of the Jedi.[1] It was first identified in the canon continuity in the junior novelization[10] and extended novelization[11] of the 2018 film Solo: A Star Wars Story.[6]
