"What's the deal with this blasted world? Where are all the people?"
"It's the Ghost Moon. Whole place was evacuated years ago, when the eruptions started. Nice place to hide. If you're a Rebel coward."
Zuke and Aero[2]

The Ghost Moon was a volcanic moon located in the system of the same name in the Wornal sector of the Mid Rim Territories. The Ghost Moon was the site of skirmish between the Galactic Empire's elite Task Force 99 and a group of Rebel troopers during the Galactic Civil War.

Description

The Ghost Moon had a volcanic terrain with a rocky landscape and dark, red skies. A city was constructed at the foot of an active volcano, with bridges constructed over rivers of lava. Its sewage tunnels were home to dianogas.[2]

History

The people of Ghost Moon evacuated their city once the local volcano began erupting, leaving the city deserted and in ruins. Junk and damaged vehicles littered the streets, and volcanic ash hung over the city. Years later, during the Galactic Civil War, Task Force 99 shot down Admiral[2] Verette's[3] Taylander shuttle over the Ghost Moon and tracked the surviving Rebels through the abandoned city, eliminating them and capturing the admiral for interrogation.[2]

Behind the scenes

The Ghost Moon first appeared in Star Wars (2015) 21, the twenty-first issue of the Star Wars comic book series published by Marvel Comics in 2016.[2]
