- "One of their leaders, a crimelord, is taking charge and instructing his cronies to cause havoc on our beloved Space Station. There is no telling what terrible feats they are capable of."
- ―Rydel Delan, to a spacer
Genesis Red was a male crime lord, leader of the eponymous criminal organization during the Galactic Civil War. Following the Battle of Yavin, he participated in the gang's occupation of portions of the lower levels of Tansarii Point Station, a space station located above Ord Mantell, in the Bright Jewel system.[2] In 1 ABY,[1] the renegades were planning to sabotage Tansarii Point Station. They managed to broke through the outer hull of the station, creating a very dangerous situation for its inhabitants.[2] Fortunately, their plans were thwarted by spacers working for Rydel Delan, Tansarii Point's brawling master. A large number of their thugs and saboteurs were killed by the spacers and agents of the Tansarii Point Station authorities.[3] Genesis Red himself was amongst those killed by the hired spacers, as requested by Rydel Delant to definitely eliminate the criminal syndicate.[2]
Behind the scenes
Randomly generated depiction of Genesis Red.
Genesis Red was a non-player character in the 2003 video game Star Wars Galaxies, a massively multiplayer online roleplaying game developed by Sony Online Entertainment and published by LucasArts,[2] prior to its closure on December 15, 2011.[4] Genesis Red was added to the game as part of the "New Player Tutorial," introduced with the release of the "Publish 25," a.k.a. the "New Game Enhancements," on November 15, 2005.[5]
Genesis Red should be killed by the player as part of a quest given by Rydel Delan. This NPC had no canon species as he respawned with a random appearance each time he was killed. While he could also respawn as a female, Rydel Delan stated Genesis Red was a male.[2]

Notes and references
- ↑ 1.0 1.1 The opening crawl of Star Wars Galaxies: An Empire Divided dates the game to after the events of Star Wars: Episode IV A New Hope, and additionally, Serji-X Arrogantus, who died in Star Wars (1977) 10—the events of which The New Essential Chronology dates to 0 ABY—appears in the game. Therefore, at least a portion of Star Wars Galaxies must be set in that year. Furthermore, in the game Ruwan Tokai references the destruction of the Death Star as having occurred one year earlier, and Strongholds of Resistance also places the events of Galaxies' Chapter 9: "The Fury of Exar Kun" in 1 ABY. Lastly, while Chapter 11: "The Battle of Echo Base" features the Battle of Hoth—dated to 3 ABY by The New Essential Chronology—the developers have stated that the portrayal of that battle in the game is intentionally anachronistic. Therefore, the events of Star Wars Galaxies must span from 0 ABY to around 1 ABY.
