Gatt was a human lieutenant who served as a pilot for the Galactic Empire. She was stationed on the DS-2 Death Star II Mobile Battle Station during its construction above the forest moon Endor. On Life Day one year, a rut she went through culminated in her lamenting to fellow TIE pilot Rode about feeling stuck on the space station while millions of other beings got to celebrate with their families. In response, Rode decided to tell Gatt the story of the Wild Squadron (Life Day), which he had learned long before from an old Rendellian on Bray. Gatt grew terrified by the legend of the ghostly vagabonds who scoured the stars for the souls of the damned each Life Day, forcing them to join their ghoulish hunt.[2]
Upon attempting to break the tension with mild horseplay, Gatt and Rode were scolded by their commander, Monne, who tasked the two pilots to join him on a simple system sweep. In their TIEs, GATT soon found herself alone in space, unable to connect to Monne or Rode over comms or see them on her sensors. She heard ghostly whispers repeating "join the hunt" and numerous ships on her sensor array. She was soon confronted by a phantasmal Jedi Vector. She fired at it, but her laser bolts passed harmlessly through the ship. The Jedi ghost fired back with dragon-like specters which entered Gatt's cockpit and took the form of a menacing Ewok, Trandoshan, Nautolan, and Mon Calamari. A fanged non-human Jedi ripped off Gatt's helmet and grasped her sweating face. She realized that she was indeed being attacked by the Wild Squadron. The ghouls quickly released their grasp, causing her to slam into her controls, careening her into Monne's TIE interceptor, exploding both of their ships. Moments later, the ghost of Gatt haunted Rode, now urging him too to join the hunt.[2]
