Gathus was a location[3] in the Gathus system of the Tynquay sector in the Outer Rim Territories[1] and New Territories,[2] falling within grid square Q-4 of the Standard Galactic Grid.[1] The residents of Gathus were suspiciously skilled at wiring up defense and security systems, although no one knew why. Some Twi'lek Gathusan security specialists were trapped in the Anoat sector during its Iron Blockade by the Galactic Empire[3] between 4 ABY and 5 ABY.[4]
Despite the mystery around the Gathusans' abilities, their skills were too good to pass up, and the individual known as the Smuggler hired at least one for his crew during the blockade.[3]
Behind the scenes
In the current Star Wars canon, Gathus was mentioned in the 2015 mobile game Star Wars: Uprising, which was developed by Kabam[3] and shut down in 2016.[5] Gathus originated in the Star Wars Legends continuity, where it was first mentioned in Barbara Hambly's 1995 novel Children of the Jedi.[6]
