Gardulla was a beverage that was favored by members of the Hutt species during the reign of the New Republic,[1] sharing its name with the Hutts Gardulla Besadii the Elder[3] and Gardulla the Younger.[4] Human scholar Ebenn Q3 Baobab's book Galactic Phrase Book & Travel Guide, which was written in 6 ABY, suggested that readers try the drink when visiting any Huttese eateries in the spaceport of Mos Eisley on the planet Tatooine. He described the drink as mind-relaxing and listed it among his favorite Huttese food and drink in the Huttese language section of his guide.[1] The beverage was also served in heavy pitchers at a huge feast held by Popara Anjiliac Diresto the Hutt at his penthouse on the planet Nal Hutta[2] in 19 ABY.[5]
Behind the scenes
The beverage Gardulla was first mentioned in the Galactic Phrase Book & Travel Guide, a 2001 book written by Ben Burtt.[1] It later appeared in the novel Scourge, which was written by Jeff Grubb an released in 2012. The book was a novelized version[2] of the Wizards of the Coast Star Wars Roleplaying Game adventure Tempest Feud, although the beverage is not mentioned in the original RPG material.[6]
