Post-Imperial era

The post-Imperial era,^[17] also known as the post-Endor era,^[18] the post-Palpatine era,^[1] and the post-Empire era,^[16] was a period of time that followed the Imperial Era, which began in 19 BBY^[19] and ended at some point by 18 ABY.^[20] In contrast, the calendar used in the chronology of the Tapani sector placed the beginning and end of the Imperial Period^[21] in 31 BBY and 4 ABY, respectively.^[22]

The Battle of Endor served as the symbolic starting point of this new era, which was known as the New Republic era during the time of the New Republic.^[1]

The post-Imperial era saw such major galactic events as the end of the Galactic Civil War; the invasion of the galaxy by the extra-galactic Yuuzhan Vong; the collapse of the New Republic; the establishment of the Galactic Alliance; its supplantation by the Fel Empire and Darth Krayt's Galactic Empire;^[19] and the rise of the Galactic Federation Triumvirate.^[15]
