The Galard Stables hive[2] was a notable Geonosian hive that wielded huge influence over the political systems of the Geonosian species on their homeworld, Geonosis.[1] The system included ten prime hives.[3]
Geonosian soldier drones that were born with abnormal intelligence could escape the rigid warrior life of duty by entering a gladiator arena by choice. Those that survived were allowed to live in exile, with some survivors finding refuge on Geonosis in the Galard Stables hive.[2] Geonosis was sterilized by the Galactic Empire around 9 BBY,[4] wiping out all but one of the planet's Geonosian population.[1]
Behind the scenes
In the current Star Wars canon, the Galard Stables hive was first mentioned in the 2018 reference book Star Wars: The Complete Visual Dictionary, New Edition, which was written by Pablo Hidalgo and David West Reynolds.[2] The hive originated in the Star Wars Legends continuity, where it was first mentioned in Reynolds's 2002 reference book Star Wars: Attack of the Clones: The Visual Dictionary.[5]
