Wookieepedia:Bad Jokes and Other Deleted Nonsense (history - links - logs - delete - protect) and its archives
This used to be funny, but let's face it: I doubt half the editors here even know about it; it's nothing but feeding the trolls; and laughing at dumb edits by users is definitely not civil.

- If someone created this page now in 2017, I'd have deleted it and warned them for violating WP:CIVIL, if not WP:NPA. It was funny back when we had a lower profile. Toprawa and Ralltiir (talk) 21:46, August 15, 2017 (UTC)

- I think I found this page on accident once and then forgot about it. I'm keeping "After defeating six vicious and hungry kell dragons with his enormously buff left fist and his undying hatred of Jaba the Hutt..." for future generations. --Clonehunter(Report your W.M.D.) 01:33, August 17, 2017 (UTC)

Wookieepedia:Copyright problems (talk - history - links - logs - delete - protect)
This was probably useful back in... 2006, but the page has been more or less dead since. Seeing as it's still linked from some places, redirecting it to the Administrators' noticeboard would be a good idea, as that's probably one of the few places all admins keep an eye on.
Redirect to Forum:Administrators' noticeboard

- There's still a report on the page from 2006. That tells you how useful this is. Toprawa and Ralltiir (talk) 21:47, August 15, 2017 (UTC)

Hey, it's me! 06:20, August 16, 2017 (UTC) - Per ProfessorTofty below. Ayrehead02 (talk) 23:33, August 16, 2017 (UTC)
- A redirect is fine, but wouldn't "it's still linked from some places" best be addressed by changing those links to point directly to the Administrators' noticeboard, and then just removing Wookieepedia:Copyright problems altogether? This would mean no redirect is needed, and would still point people to the right place. Am I overlooking something? Asithol (talk) 23:42, August 16, 2017 (UTC)

Delete
- I'm going to add a Delete option to this, because it shouldn't be redirected to the admin's noticeboard. The odds of there being a valid copyright complaint on Wookieepedia is extremely low. If there is a legitimate copyright issue, it should be handled by the qualified team at FANDOM staff. No one here is qualified to handle copyright issues on their own. FANDOM has a Community Support staff and, if it was truly a big issue, a General Counsel that can handle issues as they arise. Don't assume the burden on the wiki side. - Brandon Rhea(talk) 04:12, August 16, 2017 (UTC)

Discussion
- Regarding what you said, Brandon, just because it's directed to the admin's noticeboard doesn't mean they'd actually be having to handle it, right? At least this way it gets it to somewhere that it can be read and then they can alert the FANDOM staff of the issue, I would think. ProfessorTofty (talk) 05:26, August 16, 2017 (UTC)
- Agreed. It's also at best presumptuous (since Brandon doesn't know the background and skill set of every editor here) to assume "No one here is qualified to handle copyright issues." Also, "copyright issues" is a big umbrella, and some cases are fairly clear-cut. If a user created an article containing the full text of Heir to the Empire, any admin here could figure out that's a copyright violation and swiftly delete it without needing to consult someone higher up. Asithol (talk) 23:42, August 16, 2017 (UTC)
- I don't know the background and skill set of every user here but, as the person who handled these issues for FANDOM for 3 and a half years, I can tell you that's an extreme example and easily covered under the fact that we have no use for full texts and it can be deleted as unnecessary content. Copyright problems that arise on wikis generally come in the form of people sending in copyright complaints, in which case a DMCA takedown notice should be sent to the content host, which is FANDOM. Redirecting a page called "copyright problems" to the admins' forum is a tacit way of saying "Wookieepedia handles copyright issues," which it should not. It's not how copyright rules work, and no one on the wiki should assume that burden. - Brandon Rhea(talk) 01:23, August 17, 2017 (UTC)
