Template:Surname (history - links - logs - delete - protect)
This template is currently being used on 12 articles. There are a few legitimate cases, but the majority appears to be simply assumptions - assumptions that an individual must have shared their surname with some of their known relatives, or that they must have had a first name-last name combination to begin with. These are certainly practices that can occur in the real world, but we shouldn't be assuming that the same applies to the Star Wars galaxy by default. As such, I believe that there's no real need or benefit in keeping this, yet another header template. Imperators II(Talk) 20:59, 1 March 2024 (UTC)

- I was under the impression that the template was reserved for cases where a character is confirmed to have a first or last name that just hasn't been revealed, instead of making assumptions. Is that not the case? SorcererSupreme21 (talk) 00:40, 2 March 2024 (UTC)
- That should have been the case, and for some cases, like Palpatine or Parse, it's indeed more or less explicitly confirmed that for them we only know last names/surnames. For others, however, such as Jerjerrod, Tapalo, or Ro, there is no such confirmation. And if we take away the assumed cases, we're left with a handful of cases at best, which, like I said, in my opinion does not warrant another header template to take up space before the reader can get to the article proper.
