SuperShadow (talk - history - links - logs - delete - protect)

To echo the reasons why this was nominated last time (all the way back in 2014!), since I don't think I could put it better myself:

  • Does the article or subject have any reference to Star Wars canon or provide any material that might be interest to Star Wars projects?: "No. Not only does it have nothing to do with Star Wars canon, it was specifically denounced as containing false material unauthorized by Lucasfilm."
  • Does the article meet the notability requirements?: "It fails the content requirement on two counts. First, it no longer exists and is only available through an archive. Second, even when it did exist, the content was of marginal interest since it was fictitious. The recognition requirement is the only possible lifeline that I see. The site was briefly acknowledged by Lucasfilm / Pablo Hidalgo, only to state that it was not in any way officially sanctioned. If there was any mainstream media recognition, I'm not aware of it. And whatever fan recognition there may must have been, if it was ever enough to meet high standards of evidence, is gone now. The site is toast. Rumors from SuperShadow are not circulating anymore, the site is well forgotten." - ProfessorTofty

To add onto that, the notability of fan projects policy specifically states that articles should receive extensive recognition or endorsement from either Lucasfilm or mainstream media, which SuperShadow most certainly never has.

I have always failed to see why this particular page exists, over the thousands and thousands of SW fanoneers that have posted cringe on the Internet over the last two decade, except for the fact that this specific guy was good at pissing people off in like 2004. The website itself no longer exists and hasn't for years. The SuperShadow page itself on Wookieepedia has been cut down to like five percent its former size anyway because it's historically been filled with bullshit. There's no reason to keep this page.

Keep in mind that owing to previous efforts to TC this page in the past, this TC will need 33 votes to reach an official consensus per policy. This page has been up for deletion no less than FIVE times in the last 16 years, and it's escaped every time. It's the Teflon Don of Wookieepedia. But I think we can finally do it.   34. This article was both appropriate and needed for the first decade of Wookieepedia's existence, but what Wookieepedia is has changed since then - we no longer attempt to document fan activities that don't have a direct impact on the Star Wars story. And time has, thankfully, at last rendered SuperShadow a footnote even in fan circles.   • Is "export to Star Wars Fanpedia" still something we do? Because, while it's no longer really appropriate here, the madness of SuperShadow is something that shouldn't be completely lost to historians of fandom lore. jSarek (talk) 00:17, 6 July 2021 (UTC)
