Stalker
Okay so, it's been brought to my attention that since this article was previously deleted through a consensus vote (ahem here), then another consensus vote must be taken to bring it back. Stalker was previously deleted earlier this year through a trash compactor for the following reason:
- The Stalker was first identified in Star Wars: Complete Locations as the Star Destroyer that dispatched Viper probe droids as seen in The Empire Strikes Back. However, multiple sources afterwards directly and indirectly established that the vessel was in fact the Avenger. In short, the same action was attributed to two different Star Destroyers, with the Avenger receiving multiple attributions and the Stalker only receiving one in an older source. Therefore, it was deduced that the intention was for the Avenger to be the Star Destroyer launching probes, and the naming of Stalker was an error.
Although the Stalker is set to appear in Star Wars: Battles that Changed the Galaxy next month (we don't know the context yet), The Odyssey of Star Wars: An Epic Poem establishes brand new and non-contradictory information in regards to the Stalker. What is this new and non-contradictory information?
- Well, the Stalker is established to be located in the Juris sector near Qeimet alongside the Avenger, Conquest, Devastator, Executor and the Tyrant. The Avenger and Stalker are now confirmed to both exist in Star Wars canon because of this.
- Additionally, the Stalker is expanded further with new information that establishes that it and the Tyrant approached the Millennium Falcon from the opposite direction as it was being chased by the Avenger, which caused a near collision. Nowhere in The Odyssey is it mentioned that the Stalker launched probes, so there is no contradictory information from this new source.
- While we don't know exactly what Battles that Changed the Galaxy might say about the Stalker, The Odyssey has very much proved that the Stalker is notable and a separate subject within canon, in contrast to the information we had at the time of the original trash compactor. Even if Battles says that the Stalker launched probes, that is information that we can look at and take appropriate steps, such as removing that information from the Avenger article, or placing that information in the "Behind the scenes" section of the Stalker alongside the information from Complete Locations. --Vitus InfinitusTalk 20:23, 14 October 2021 (UTC)

Just wanted to say that it is entirely possible multiple ships released probe droids, and the intent seems only to be that the probe droid that came to Hoth was specifically from the Avenger, not that it was the only ship to release probe droids. SilverSunbird (talk) 23:40, 14 October 2021 (UTC)
