Pillow (talk - history - links - logs)
Hi! Let me just make it clear that I'm not trying to reopen the discussion on whether or not we should have articles on real-world things like chair, window, etc. That discussion is a long-dead one, but the generally-accepted result is that real-world objects deserve an article if they serve some sort of unique function in the SW Universe. eg, chairs can be Mechno-chairs, eyes can shoot lasers, etc. I don't believe that pillow meets that criteria. This is currently the entirety of the article:
"A pillow was an item similar to a cushion that was used to rest an individual's head upon when lying down, either to sleep or to rest."
That's exactly what a pillow is in real life, too. Unless someone can find something uniquely Star Wars about it, I think it should go. Menkooroo (talk) 18:52, July 27, 2012 (UTC)

- I am maintaining this vote as is. Even with the recent improvements, literally the only thing unique about IU pillows is that some were made out of gort feathers. That alone is not sufficient for me to consider it notable enough for an article. The psychometry thing is a Force power unrelated to pillows that just happened to involve one in this specific instance, and the explosion of the appearances list does absolutely nothing to establish notability by way of uniqueness, which is what actually counts. And I just don't see notability here. —MJ— Comlink Tuesday, July 31, 2012, 01:00 UTC
- In the entire history of the galaxy, the single most comfortable chair ever designed was a type of pillow. If that's not notably unique, I don't know what is. -- Darth Culator (Talk) 14:19, August 1, 2012 (UTC)

- yeah, this seems like a pretty generic article that doesn't need to be here. <-Omicron(Leave a message at the BEEP!) 21:26, July 27, 2012 (UTC)
Pillows were in KOTOR. Who wrote this? They're right there on the bed in the ship. On the beds in the vision cutscene at the beginning. WHO?NaruHina Talk

- Technically a pillow also counts as a weapon, but if we don't have an article for pillow fight, we don't need this one either. Grand Moff Tranner

Keep
- Nobody in the real world ever got a psychometric imprint from a pillow, and I've never heard of gort feathers. And I'm not done yet, this is just what I could squeeze in before I decided to go to sleep. This kind of article only needs to die if nothing interesting can be found. -- Darth Culator (Talk) 04:13, July 28, 2012 (UTC)
- Isn't the psychometric imprint thing an ability? Unique to a user and not to the pillow? Darth Trayus(Trayus Academy) 04:21, July 28, 2012 (UTC)
- It's an interesting bit of history that uniquely involves a pillow. And there's more now anyway. :P -- Darth Culator (Talk) 03:39, July 29, 2012 (UTC)

Is there a reason why this article has to be deleted? Content is sourced and verifiable. --$ Ashtree $ (Talk) 12:47, July 28, 2012 (UTC)(Vote struck, reason: Per policy: Fails productivity requirement -- —MJ— Holocomm Saturday, July 28, 2012, 18:22 UTC)As per 'Ashtree', I don't understand why a perfectly good article has to be deleted when the subject matter covers a canon portion of the SW universe (A small portion granted) If we delete this article then we are picking and choosing the elements of the SW universe that we want to showcase. That is not right, as per policy of the site. There are a whole lot of other articles on this wiki that had less effect on the SW canon than a pillow, do we delete them as well? --$ Jacensolo148 $ (Talk) 12:59, July 28, 2012 (UTC)(Vote struck, reason: Per policy: Fails productivity requirement -- —MJ— Holocomm Saturday, July 28, 2012, 18:22 UTC)
