Minikit (talk - history - links - logs - delete - protect)
This is honestly one I did not expect to come back to—at least, not any time soon. However, this crazy mess of a franchise works in mysterious ways and that tends to impact us in unexpected ways here at Wookieepedia.
Two years ago, there was a Trash Compactor thread (see Forum:TC:LEGO gameplay mechanics) dictating that the page for various LEGO game mechanics would be deleted. Among these was Minikit (at the time a Legends page), which I'm sure all of you are familiar with—those wonky, white mechanical LEGO capsules that give you micro-builds in the LEGO Star Wars games. At the time of deletion, the primary argument in favor of its fate was that minikits were solely a game mechanic, with no indication they existed in another manner.
However, today I come to you with a new, unexpected example that potentially brings some notability back to the minikit. Yesterday, German LEGO retailer Lucky Bricks revealed multiple LEGO Star Wars sets on their Instagram account. Among these sets was this year's LEGO Star Wars Advent Calendar (Link to post; slide 5). Among the micro-builds in the calendar this year is none other than the minikit.
This marks the first time that we have seen the minikit in any Star Wars media or merchandise outside of the LEGO games and their guides (to my knowledge, anyway). It is important to note this is not an in-universe acknowledgement of the minikit, per se. However, with it being the first time they have been seen outside of the games, I feel it's important to unshelf the discussion of the minikit's notability. With LEGO acknowledging it in an official set, it's clear there is an iconographic aspect to the minikit in the Star Wars fandom. Under any other context this would be a random build that makes no sense, but LEGO Star Wars fans know what this is—I believe it is clear this is something they put in for the fans. This would not be the first time that something notable within the fan scope has been documented on the wiki (Hello there, Han shot first, 501st Legion (fan organization)), and its presence in genuine Star Wars media and documentable information regarding game mechanics (which I have seen more people be willing to document as of late) render this a rather unique case. There is still the argument that this changes nothing—after all, the minikit is not exclusive to LEGO Star Wars media; it's in every Traveller's Tales LEGO game (save for BIONICLE Heroes, LEGO Worlds, The LEGO Ninjago Movie Videogame, and The LEGO Movie 2 Videogame), though the depiction of it in this shape and color are unique to the Star Wars titles. Additionally, as mentioned earlier this still isn't an in-universe mention of it.
I personally believe the acknowledge of the minikit outside of the games elevates the minikit to a status more distinct than its other game mechanic counterparts that were TC'd in the past. However, I recognize the unique circumstances of the situation, and I'm looking forward to what you all have to say. - Thannus (DFaceG) (he/him) (talk) 07:45, 2 May 2024 (UTC)
This is a vote to amend a previous TC, Forum:TC:LEGO gameplay mechanics, which voted 15:0 in favor of deleting this subject, which was located at Minikit/Canon at the time. If restored, the page would be located simply at Minikit.
Restore
- As nominator, per initial nomination post. - Thannus (DFaceG) (he/him) (talk) 07:45, 2 May 2024 (UTC)
- I want this year's Advent Calendar so bad. OOM 224 (he/him) 07:49, 2 May 2024 (UTC)
- They're also at the very least eluded to in a ton of dialogues in LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga. Ayrehead02 (talk) 07:58, 2 May 2024 (UTC)
- As long as they exist IU per what Ayre said as well, then I'm onboard. Bonzane10

Keep deleted
- I'm voting Keep deleted for now since as someone who has played all LEGO Star Wars games before, I believe minikits only appear as an in-game collectible without any IU recognition or dialogue mention, and—unlike Kyber bricks—they are not unique to the Star Wars games. They have the same presence as tokens in Star Wars Battlefront or other in-game mechanics that do not tie into the narrative. Unless someone can provide evidence for otherwise, I feel like keeping [[Minikit]] as a redirect to LEGO, or even a soft redirect to W:c:brickipedia:Minikit, would be more convenient than having a non-canonical yet still in-universe page for Minikits on Wookieepedia.

- Since it seems like there is no IU dialogue mentioning them, then I am voting to delete. Minikits purely exist as a gameplay mechanic and, like studs, do not exist in-universe and do not impact the game's story. Just because one LEGO set acknowledges them, I do not think they are notable for a page. Rsand 30 (talk) 02:02, 5 May 2024 (UTC)

Comments
- As per my comment on Discord, I am waiting for more context on the IU potential use of the word before casting my vote. NanoLuukeCloning Facility 20:39, 2 May 2024 (UTC)
- Per Nano. Also would be interested to find out if Studs are mentioned in dialogue, and if that page could be restored as well. Rsand 30 (talk) 21:23, 2 May 2024 (UTC)
