List of references to Star Wars in (television, movies, music, video games, webcomics, miscellanea)
I see no reason why these giant lists should exist. They're just haphazard trivia articles, almost entirely unsourced, screaming with original research. Delete them, move them to the Fanpedia, whatever. They don't belong here. IFYLOFD (Enter the Floydome) 01:25, June 12, 2013 (UTC)
Delete, export to Fanpedia
- IFYLOFD (Enter the Floydome) 01:25, June 12, 2013 (UTC)
- Changing this option to delete/export, if everyone's fine with that. The Fanpedia has said they'd accept these articles, and that would definitely be a better place for them. IFYLOFD (Enter the Floydome) 23:38, June 17, 2013 (UTC)

- People like Star Wars and like to acknowledge Star Wars. We shouldn't be documenting every instance of this.. Darth Trayus(Trayus Academy) 01:18, June 13, 2013 (UTC)
- Quoting from the keep arguments below: "a tribute to how massive the Star Wars impact is outside of the SW community", "I think they're cool", "a great way to collect info on how fans express their love for Star Wars". Each and every one of these quotes demonstrates exactly why these lists belong on the Fanpedia instead of here. The other four keep voters either vote per the first of those quotes, focus on the condition of the articles not being a reason for deletion (there are other reasons cited in support of deletion), vote per the false argument about condition, or some combination thereof. Conclusion: I don't find a single one of the keep votes to be a valid reason for keeping the article. And so my vote lands here. —MJ— Comlink 18:19, June 13, 2013 (UTC)
- I attempted to destroy these abominations previously. I still think they should be destroyed!
OLIOSTER (talk) 23:35, June 17, 2013 (UTC) - You know we have a fan wiki now, right? ("Export" is an implied option in any TC, thanks to the CC license.) I edit these as long as they're here, but they don't need to be here. -- Darth Culator (Talk) 23:38, June 17, 2013 (UTC)

- Exportation is fine by me, as the lists will still be intact, albeit elsewhere. Might I suggest that a soft redirect be put in their place after they're exported? Trak Nar Ramble on 02:09, June 18, 2013 (UTC)
- Exporting sounds good, I just didn't want to see them outright deleted. Supreme Emperor (talk) 03:09, June 18, 2013 (UTC)

- Most of the time, I would vote to delete lists like this with a vengeance. However, I've always felt that these lists serve a much greater purpose. Not only are they very interesting articles that I believe people enjoy viewing, but they are also a tribute to how massive the Star Wars impact is outside of the SW community. IMO, these are definitely worth being spared.—Cal Jedi

- Per Hunter Khan's comment in 2010. They would be mighty fine articles if they were cleaned up and sourced more thoroughly. Menkooroo (talk) 02:34, June 12, 2013 (UTC)
Per Cal. If cleaned up they would look quite good. Supreme Emperor (talk) 02:44, June 12, 2013 (UTC)
- I love these pages!! They are a great way to collect info on how fans express their love for Star Wars.Darth Pickle 2 (talk) 03:18, June 12, 2013 (UTC)
- This again? Repeating what I said last vote and per Menkooroo and Cal here. A dirty article is no excuse for deletion. -- Riffsyphon1024 20:05, June 12, 2013 (UTC)
- It's not because it's a dirty article (admittedly, that doesn't help). It's because these are massive lists of trivia that don't belong in a mainly IU wiki. They'd be better suited for something like the Fanpedia. IFYLOFD (Enter the Floydome) 23:43, June 12, 2013 (UTC)
- Per Cal and Menk. --LelalMekha (talk) 20:11, June 12, 2013 (UTC)
I'd rather see the lists exported, should something be done with them. Granted, I have a level of investment in the gaming list, as my brother played through Lost Vikings to find all of the SW references. Thus, I would be sad to see it go and his work be for naught. So, if a web-animation in the Javanese language indirectly refers to Star Wars, should it be in these lists? Do you realise how unpractical this is? Star Wars is a massive pop culture phenomenon, referred to by everyone, always, all the time. Plus, there isn't even a notability guideline for what gets included. Also, List of references to Star Wars in miscellanea? So that means anything that ever mentioned the franchise gets included?
Like IFYLOFD said, this is non-notable fan activity, pieces of trivia best suited for a fan Star Wars wiki. It seems like a no-brainer, but apparently some want to keep it because they think it's cool, which I don't believe is how a community should form consensus. Stake black msg 03:41, June 12, 2013 (UTC)
- Actually, you are taking one person's comment and generalizing it to everyone. Never did I say that we should keep it because they're cool. We do not run Wookieepedia that way. Rather, I think they have a legitimate purpose. Perhaps there could be more restrictions put into play, but that doesn't mean that we should get rid of them completely. We're Wookieepedia, the Star Wars wiki. Not Wookieepedia, the In-Universe wiki. We don't get rid of stuff just because it isn't mentioned in canon.—Cal Jedi
(Personal Comm Channel) 13:36, June 12, 2013 (UTC)
- It depends on how you interpret this sentence from our About page: "Wookieepedia is a wiki-based online encyclopedia that contains detailed information about the Star Wars movies and the spin-offs from those, including books and video games." The "list of references" is a better fit for the Fan wiki than on Wookieepedia. JangFett (Talk) 19:41, June 12, 2013 (UTC)
Could there be a third option to export rather than outright delete? Supreme Emperor (talk) 03:11, June 14, 2013 (UTC)
- The nominating statement says "Delete them, move them to the Fanpedia, whatever. They don't belong here." I took that to mean that he just wants them gone from Wookieepedia and doesn't really care whether they get exported. So I would read the "delete" option as "delete from here, and somebody who cares can export them to Fanpedia if they get to them before they're deleted". At least that's how I read it. Whether to import them to Fanpedia is really Fanpedia's decision anyway, not ours. —MJ— Council Chambers 03:30, June 14, 2013 (UTC)
