Planetary assault tactics

• Approach (history - links - logs - delete - protect)
• Invasion/Legends (history - links - logs - delete - protect)
• Control (planetary assault tactics) (history - links - logs - delete - protect)

Star Wars Adventure Journal 2 details the four stages in planetary assault tactics: approach, orbit, invasion, and control. FWIW, these stages are not capitalized as formal terms by the source. They are simply the individual stages of overall planetary assault. These stages are briefly outlined in the source in a few paragraphs each and do not need individual articles themselves. They can and should simply be covered under the Planetary assault tactics article.

This forum proposes to do the following with these articles:

• Approach will be redirected to Planetary assault tactics
• Invasion/Legends will be moved Invasion and redirected to Planetary assault tactics. There is no reason to maintain this article on its own just to cover the general dictionary topic of an invasion.
• Orbit and Orbit/Legends will remain as articles to cover that separate topic
• Control (planetary assault tactics) will be deleted. With the parenthetical description, this has no value as a redirect. The Control article, which covers something else, can add a navigational template pointing readers to Planetary assault tactics. Toprawa and Ralltiir (talk) 21:32, 4 November 2020 (UTC)

Oppose

1. Several of the stuff, such as Invasion, also have specific event info included in there as well as additional details not covered in the Star Wars Journal thing. For example, the use of blackouts immediately before an invasion as a tell tale sign was specifically mentioned in The Phantom Menace, as was the fact that they were generally illegal pre-Naboo Crisis based on what Nute Gunray stated. We really should treat it more like Guerrilla Warfare/Legends, instead, where we instead expand on the article using specific instances in various sources where such was used.    • We have a perfectly reasonable place for any additional minor details under Space warfare#Planetary assault tactics. Toprawa and Ralltiir (talk) 03:37, 5 November 2020 (UTC)
     • Okay, but if there's any additional sources for Invasion that expands on specific usages prior to or during or even after the Empire (and are specifically listed as an invasion at that), it would be better off to keep it at its own page. Canon Invasion

The only reason this article exists is because some well-meaning person saw the Legends equivalent and thought Canon needed one as well. But "invasion" is only relevant to Legends because of its application to defined planetary assault tactics, a distinguishing element not present in Canon.
