Death penalty (talk - history - links - logs - delete - protect)
It's prominent in plenty of Star Wars stories, but I don't see anything otherworldly or incongruous about the death penalty (WP:DICT). RogueWhistler (talk) 19:06, 24 November 2022 (UTC)

- The means of dying doesn't make the death penalty unique, we already have Death and I don't see the need, otherwise we should also make murder, massacre (death), sacrifice (death), ritual killing and accidental killing, etc... Manoof (he/him/his)

- Whilst there are various methods unique to Star Wars, that info is probably better suited to the individual or relevant pages rather than a page where all the methods themselves are basically listed Lewisr (talk) 01:29, 2 December 2022 (UTC)
- Zero difference between the real world and Star Wars on the concept of death penalty. How it is applied has no bearing on the dictionary definition. OOM 224 16:39, 2 December 2022 (UTC)
Keep
- I think that the way that it was used by different governments, though technically some what dictionary-like, is valuable enough to warrant a page discussing it. VergenceScatter (talk) 19:12, 24 November 2022 (UTC)
- Definite keep. There are ways that the death penalty is carried out that are unique to the GFFA, suchas the electroguillotine. - JMAS

- This form of punishment is of great note and plot relevance in many Star Wars stories and also is sometimes actually or intended to be preformed with means unique to Star Wars. Moreover, it is helpful to be able to collect the practices of execution of various factions in one place. SaintSirNicholas (talk) 20:34, 24 November 2022 (UTC)

- Page could use some cleanup and expansion but there is more than enough here to justify its existence. SorcererSupreme21 (talk) 03:59, 25 November 2022 (UTC)
- Same arguments the others gave. Timjer (talk) 14:51, 25 November 2022 (UTC)
- The admins are invoking the death penalty, now?! Oh wait, this is for in-universe. I say keep it. Erebus Chronus (Talk) 22:41, 28 November 2022 (UTC)

- Death by Gran Kovali would be another example on SW uniqueness. <-Omicron(Leave a message at the BEEP!) 14:33, 1 December 2022 (UTC)

- death penalty is a very specific way to die, and can be used by several governments, which is a good indicator of their way to rule. plus, as JMAS said, there are some star wars-y way to execute death penalty. HeadSpikesWalls (she/they)
(talk!) 11:25, 3 December 2022 (UTC) - The article could certainly use a slight rewrite but there's enough to indicate uniqueness in Star Wars here. Incongruency doesn't apply but unique in-universe properties absolutely do.- Thannus (DFaceG) (he/him) (talk) 09:15, 5 December 2022 (UTC)
