Cauterization (talk - history - links - logs - delete - protect)

I bring this article to the Trash compactor in accordance with WP:NOTADICTIONARY, as there is no distinctly unique in-universe information here, only the sheer definition of the term. However, I believe a merge to Lightsaber is more ideal than outright deletion, because:

  • A) This is a fairly significant and common topic among Star Wars fans when wondering why is there no blood after a lightsaber chops off someone's arm. A simple Google search for "Star Wars cauterization" shows how widespread this is, so it's a legitimate search query.
  • B) Secondly, and more importantly for Wookieepedia's in-universe focus, lightsaber cauterization is a familiar enough thing in the GFFA to deserve keeping the term as a redirect. In Dark Force Rising, there's a nice scene where Thrawn and his forces are examining the destruction left behind by Luke Skywalker:
Pellaeon: "They've found team 102, all dead. Two were killed by blaster fire; the other two... There seems to be some confusion about the other two."
Thrawn: "No confusion, Commander. Instruct them to look for near microscopic cuts across the bodies with partial cauterization."
Pellaeon: "Partial cauterization?"
Thrawn: "And then inform them that one of the intruders is the Jedi Luke Skywalker."

The Lightsaber articles can then document all in-universe and real-world applications of this term and concept to save us from needing an unnecessary separate article just to explain this definition. Toprawa and Ralltiir (talk) 18:19, December 9, 2018 (UTC)
