Back in June and January, some categories named "{Character}'s belongings" were created. For example, Category:Anakin Skywalker's belongings. The first problem is that the definition of one's belongings is highly debatable: are droids their master's belongings? Or did Imperial ships belong to Darth Vader? Aside from that, these categories serve little purpose, in my opinion: little correlation exists between Luke's lightsaber and a Jedi book. Additionally, one's belongings would be documented in the "Equipment" section, making these categories redundant to the main article itself. For these reasons, I believe it's best to delete these categories. In case the categories end up getting deleted, my bot will take care of removing the links from the pages. Keep

  1. The existence of Equipment sections shouldn't have any bearing here. Prose doesn't negate the need for navigational tools, which the category system is. Pretty useful in the case of folks like Dok-Ondar actually, a character who's primary trait is being a collector; this category makes it easier to see what he actually has collected. I do agree though that there should be restrictions on what goes into these though, droids or generic items shouldn't go here (i.e., Luke may have owned a KSE-H44 A-wing pilot helmet but unless we have an article for that one specific helmet the generic page shouldn't be in this cat).     In regards to Dok, everything that he has collected would be more relevant on Dok-Ondar's Den of Antiquities, or for Luthen then Galactic Antiquities and Objects of Interest. These are better places than categories Lewisr (talk) 19:36, 28 February 2023 (UTC)

  3. I think we could adjust the descriptions of what's appropriate for those categories, but it doesn't hurt us to have them and it makes it easier for users to browse a particular topic.
