Now that Forum:CT:Video Game Item Policy "Master List" has passed, I want to go ahead and propose my ideas for the notability policy for items within the video game Star Wars: Hunters, based off of opinions and ideas collected from numerous conversations across Discord and a Senate Hall since shortly after I started editing last year. Still working on the wording for the CT, but wanted to see if there were any final notes before I proceed.

For those unaware, the game has a number of cosmetic options, including character and weapon skins (titled Costumes and Weapon Wraps respectively) as well as end-of-match Victory Poses, two types of Expressions (Emotes, and Stickers which can be displayed around arenas mid-match), and finally Avatars, which are portraits of things you can use to represent your account in-game. As with most video games, all of these cosmetics have names in-game, such as the "Ferocious Gorax" Avatar or the "Flexing On You" Sentinel Emote or the "Crimson Veteran" Imara Vex Costume. However, just existing obviously doesn't make all of these items notable enough for their own page. Even just the Costumes and Weapon Wraps don't all seem notable enough to warrant one, which is where we reach the following conclusion.

Essentially, the only items deserving of individual articles are the following:

- Epic-tier Costumes (e.g. Righteous Warrior) - Legendary-tier Costumes (e.g. Icy Sith) - Epic-tier Weapon Wraps (e.g. Righteous MT-97) - Legendary-tier Weapon Wraps (e.g. Heartbreaker) - Base-tier Weapon Wraps (which should just be treated as the default weapons, e.g. Prototype E-Web)

Rationale: the game's rarity system is broken down into five categories: Base (Red), Uncommon (Green), Rare (Blue), Epic (Purple), Legendary (Yellow). "Base" cosmetics are treated as the default in-universe. "Uncommon" cosmetics don't actually exist in-game anymore I believe, they were only present during the soft-launch/beta period, though they were just slight recolors of the Base costumes/weapons and all shared the same bio. The same can be said for "Rare" cosmetics, which are slightly more extreme repaints, but repaints all the same, and sharing the same bio, it can be safe to assume they're just slight alterations to the Base costumes/weapons in-universe.

Both "Epic" and "Legendary" cosmetics, however, deviate from the original designs at the model level, and each come with unique one or two-sentence bios. It was also pointed out to me that some have been mentioned by name in other in-game text, so we know to some extent they can exist in-universe, and are recognizable by fans of the Hunters of the Outer Rim "competition." If Hunters is semi-consider an analogy for something like the WWE in-universe, then these costumes/wraps take on an identity of their own, as we see with real life occurrences such as Jerry Lawler's "The King" costume, or Ricky Steamboat's "The Dragon," or even some of Hulk Hogan's "alternate attires like "Hogan Maximus" or "New World Order." (I am not a WWE fan, I just went down a rabbit hole on Google about all of this.)

So with that in-mind, we would consider everything else not notable enough for their own page (though I would still like to document them on the site somewhere so records aren't lost when the game inevitably shuts down). Of course, there can be exceptions, if the game gives us a reason to believe that any other sort of cosmetic may be a thing in-universe, barring Stickers as they're literally just graffiti spread across the Grand Arena. Arguments over their justification can happen when the time comes, however, the default should be to limit to the items listed above.

What I still would like feedback on:

1) I would like to have a comprehensive list of, at the very least, all in-game Costumes and Weapon Wraps listed somewhere on the site, if not every obtainable cosmetic. Personally, I would like the Costumes be be listed in a ==Star Wars: Hunters Cosmetics== section (title pending) of the character-they-belong-to's page (e.g. all Grozz costumes would be listed in bullets by rarity and then alphabetical order towards the bottom of the Grozz page), with the same being done for their respective Weapon pages as well. Would this be feasibile, or should they only be listed somewhere else?

2) Should we also create pages for all Base-tier Costumes, or should we assume everything about them is covered on their character's page, save for special examples such as Aran Tal's armor?

3) How would you approach special cases where the Base may not actually sever as the "base" for weapon wraps, such as with Grozz's KX Clubs (I see someone included a redlink to Improvised Clubs, which would serve as a better option in the "Type" field for it's wraps)? A similar case can be made for Utooni, who technically has two weapons, the Pulse Blaster and Arc Caster, despite the wraps collectively sharing one name for the pair.

4) And finally, personally, I would like replicas to still have their own pages for consistency's sake. For instance, there is a J-3DI's lightsaber wrap in game named the "Light Saber Design" which is a replica of Kelleran Beq's lightsaber as indicated by it's bio, but we just have it listed as "Kelleran Beq's lightsaber (Replica only)" in the Appearances at the moment. I would say we still need a page for J-3DI's version of the saber as it is not the same weapon, but would anyone be opposed to that?

Thank you everyone for the feedback over these past months, it's super cool to see other people work on documenting this stuff as well. Bonzane10 has done a fantastic job collecting images and information in Wookieepedia:Star Wars: Hunters screenshots that would be invaluable for this endeavor. I know ThePedantry has also been working on some Index-related things adjacent to this that may come in handy for the full lists of cosmetics I proposed. And thanks to the users in the "SW Hunters Community | TUH" Discord server, we have access to a Google Drive with all relevant in-game models that can be (and have already been) used for these various Costume/Weapon Wrap pages! I think we're finally a place in Wookieepedia's life where we can start to hone in on stuff like this, and I would formally like to begin with Hunters if at all possible, as it's caused a lot of discussion/debate regarding this in the past!

TL;DR: For the first entry on the new Notability policy/Video game items page, Star Wars: Hunters would allow for (and encourage) creation of articles for ONLY Legendary and Epic-tier Costumes and Weapon Wraps. All rarity Costumes and Weapon Wraps, however, would be recorded somewhere on the site, potentially on their corresponding Character/Weapon pages, but nothing else is to be considered truly notable in-universe (with potentially unique exceptions, of course). - MTrac1000 (talk) 18:40, 12 March 2025 (UTC)

  • Don't think basing it off of rarity would work as some of the old epic costumes/weapon wraps were non-distinct recolored items and no unique item description/quote. Would probably be best if we list two criteria instead. Here's a suggestion Bonzane10 Bonzane10-Sig 19:10, 12 March 2025 (UTC)
    • I was unaware of that! From the soft launch I'm assuming? But if so, I like the suggestion, though I do think "unique" can be vague and easily misinterpreted in this regard, so maybe something more along the lines of "does not share an item description and/or quote with another item." Rules out people assuming Rare cosmetics have unique bios since they differ from the Base's blurb? As for the second, we have to find a way to specify unique as being changes to the model itself and NOT just unique colors... but we're definitely on the right track! - MTrac1000 (talk) 19:49, 12 March 2025 (UTC)
      • "Unique model from each character's base model" Probably something like that? I removed design bc I feel that one might be a loophole for people justifying the recolors. Bonzane10 Bonzane10-Sig 04:31, 14 March 2025 (UTC)
  • For the Improvised Clubs, I don't think that is something that needs to be made, except maybe a redirect for the KX Clubs itself. Feels like making an article for "Custom-built [insert weapon]," which is unnecessary. And for Utooni.. might be best to just cover them as a set, following how the game treats them, since they are a duo rather than just one individual. • A redirect would be a great idea! That way we don't have a random conjectural weapon type floating around from the game when other Hunters don't have them. And yeah, a page for the set would probably work best, in addition to the independent ones we already have. Thoughts on having to create pages for every Hunter's "Base Costume" or not? - MTrac1000 (talk) 19:49, 12 March 2025 (UTC)
  • I'll just say, I've seen a handful of redlinks related to Hunters cosmetics, so regardless of how we define notability I agree that it's good to have specific guidelines for Hunters content. Rsand 30 (talk) 19:34, 12 March 2025 (UTC)
    • I agree! It's been a lingering issue for too long, we need some consistency! - MTrac1000 (talk) 19:49, 12 March 2025 (UTC)
  • Back again! For both Rieve and J-3DI, their lightsaber variants should 100% be covered separately. Bonzane10 Bonzane10-Sig 04:31, 14 March 2025 (UTC)
  • For the first point, I'm personally against making a long table for the costume under the character's article. We can do the same without the bloat via categories instead. As for the documentation for all available costumes, the eventual plan is to make a media specific index for in-game content. Though for now you can check in-game cosmetics on here. Still a WIP as I typically do this in bulks and some older Hunters just have too big of a list. Bonzane10 Bonzane10-Sig 04:38, 14 March 2025 (UTC)
  • For those unaware, the game is being permanently shut down so we better get a move-on documenting this game while it's still live. Labyrinthine G0B-L1N (talk) 06:31, 17 March 2025 (UTC)
