Happy Mother's Day! I briefly mentioned this idea in Discord a few weeks back and seemed to get a positive response, hence this thread. How would people feel about adding parameters for family relationships in infoboxes? In my mind, it's much more relevant to the lives of many SW characters than the existing master and apprentice fields that we already have, and therefore worth documenting in the infobox so that our readers can easily access them. At a minimum we would have fields for parents, spouses, siblings, and children, and we could potentially include extended family from grandparents to step-siblings to cousins. This would be most suited to being acknowledged in the Biographical information section of the infobox. I hope in the discussion here we can hash out how much coverage we think would be appropriate. - I don't mind adding this to be honest. Currently, we just link the family itself under Affiliations if an article exists, do you plan on tweaking this as well? UberSoldat93

- I think that'll be fine to remain as is. Commander Code-8 Hello There! 07:09, 14 May 2023 (UTC)
- I like this idea. When this was first brought up, I thought the idea was to have just a single "family members" parameter, but I suppose I wouldn't be against more specific parameters either (kinda like Wikipedia does for real-world people). Imperators II(Talk) 07:20, 14 May 2023 (UTC)
- I like it, but I think we should just add Parent(s), Sibling(s), and Spouse(s) to avoid any potential clutter it could bring to the infobox, especially with the more popular character. Bonzane10

- What about children? :P Imperators II(Talk) 13:01, 14 May 2023 (UTC)
- Oh yeah, basically family members except extended family, I don't think we need to make parameters for extended family like cousins or grandparents. Bonzane10

- I think when it comes time to draw up the CT I think I'll put up extended family as an optional parameter to vote on, there's some instances where it could be useful like Rey and Palpatine. Commander Code-8 Hello There! 09:20, 15 May 2023 (UTC)

- I agree with this. We already list Mandalorian clans as their own parameters, after allEditoronthewiki (talk) 13:48, 14 May 2023 (UTC)
- I think this could be useful, however it could get unnecessarily cluttered for large families. Rsand 30 (talk) 12:27, 15 May 2023 (UTC)
- I think that's a great idea! Jarhead002 (talk) (he/him) 21:44, 15 May 2023 (UTC)
