Hello everyone! There has been a recent discussion on the Wookieepedia Discord server regarding the need for a "feathers" infobox parameter for the {{Character}} infobox template. Some articles do (such as Cygnus Anton, Ban Papeega, and Feathers spokesman) include feather color in their infoboxes, but do so in the "hair" parameter. Apart from being a zoological error, the hair field is exclusively for hair color and not for feather color. Additionally, a "feathers" parameter is already included in the {{Species}} infobox.
Some argue that the addition of a "feathers" parameter may set a precedent to add many other parameters that could overblow an infobox's parameters. However, I'd counter that as Species already uses a parameter for feather color, it'd be fair to use it in an individual's infobox as well. Adding this parameter to the Character infobox would also be consistent with the Species infobox.

As of now, the "feathers" field is located between the "hair" and "eyes" parameters, but I'd like to learn where you all think it should be located. - I don't believe it is necessary as, from a visual standpoint, feathers are typically treated in the same manner as hair/fur. In a way, they are the hair of birds. Now, the technicality of this is debatable, but based on how it's treated in-universe from a cosmetic standpoint (and an IRL standpoint of both feathers and hair essentially serving the same purpose aside from feathers helping with flight/weight), I see no reason to have this added. That being said, I would not be outright against it either. To be more precise, I don't think it's necessary, but I also don't think it's unwelcome. - To add on, should consensus dictate the field is added, I would also argue that a field for scales should be added as well, since we're already making distinctions.
