- "Our knives do not break under proper usage. […] If I am to return his cost, I must have the broken knife in return so that I may examine it and discover its flaws."
"Yet the knife did break. […] His statement insults my honor and my word."
"He thus demands twice his cost. […] Such a burden we cannot afford to pay." - ―Feathers spokesman and agent Vaantaar
A Pineath male nicknamed "Feathers spokesman", along with three other Pineath, attempted to trick several Troukree refugees, including agent Vaantaar, into paying him double for the supposedly broken Troukree knife the refugees had provided him[1] in 0 ABY.[2] In truth, the Troukree refugees had sold a knife in perfect condition, which the Pineath refused to accept. After Daric LaRone, a member of the Hand of Judgment, learnt the Feathers spokeman's and Vaantar's reasoning, he asked to see the broken knife. Although the spokesman hesitated to show it, he gave in, revealing his treachery. The Pineath then departed while thanking Larone for not dishonoring him by announcing his treachery to the crowd surrounding them.[1]
