Hi! Based on the feedback in this SH thread, I propose that we adopt a new field to our {{Planet}} and {{System}} infoboxes. It'd be named |socialgroup= and labeled as "Socio-cultural group(s)", placed between the |otherspecies= and |language= fields on both templates, and would be used to more accurately present socio-cultural groups (such as Corellians, Alderaanians, Keitumites, Sullorians, etc.) that hailed from the given planet or star system and were neither (confirmed) species nor subspecies. (Currently some of those are misleadingly being presented in the |demonym= field of the Planet infobox.)

For example, under this proposal, on the Canon Naboo article the infobox would list:

  • its native Gungan species in the |species= field,
  • the immigrated Human species in the |otherspecies= field,
  • Naboo's socio-cultural Human group known as the Naboo in the |socialgroup= field, and
  • the planet's demonym, "Nabooian", in the |demonym= field. Imperators II(Talk) 19:57, 11 May 2024 (UTC)

  • I didn't realize this when I saw the SH, but for consistency (and since there's at least one example) shouldn't the field also be added to {{Moon}}? Zed42 Wolfpack emblem (talk) 23:17, 11 May 2024 (UTC)
