Pulling this from the relevant Senate Hall, and some additional reasoning is present there. A TLDR of reasons reasons for merging the policy to the Layout Guide include:

  • Outdated-ish wording due to being created—then never altered—since a 2007 Mofference.
  • A small, niche policy that doesn't need to be on its own.
  • Current wording is against modern practice, as we never permit permanent trivia or trivia-like sections anywhere, and bullets are only used for non-trivial uses on occasion for languages and some other weird cases.

To add to Wookieepedia:Layout Guide between "Article footer" and "Index Page," 

==Trivia sections==
*Lists of miscellaneous facts grouped into their own section as "Trivia," "Facts," "Miscellanea," "[Subject] in popular culture," "Other information," etc. should be avoided.
*Information in these sections that is relevant to the article's topic should be merged into the content of the article body and referenced appropriately.
*Entries that are speculative, factually incorrect, or qualify as [[Wookieepedia:Attribution#Original_research|original research]] should be removed.

This will also result in Wookieepedia:Trivia and WP:TRIVIA being redirected to point toward the LG section instead and the {{Policies}} template being amended.—spookywillowwtalk 03:47, 16 February 2024 (UTC)
