The titles of our articles on the various Essential Guides currently do not include the Star Wars: prefix. However, both the official site and Del Rey's site do. I hereby propose we follow the official format. This means that:

The Essential Atlas

would be moved to

Star Wars: The Essential Atlas

And so on, for all the relevant Guides. I am sure there's an argument to be made to extend the spirit of this CT to other publications, but I am content with dealing with the Essential Guides for now. This incremental approach also reduces the immediate workload. Please do not add additional voting options to this CT. --Imperialles 16:26, May 31, 2010 (UTC)

Keep current format

  1. Webshops and alikes lists every Star Wars-related thing with the Staw Wars prefix. Del Rey's site lists the novels with the prefix, yet Wookieepadia doesn't. If I am allowed to vote, I say keep the current format and use it everywhere else (comics, etc...). Darth Morrt 17:17, May 31, 2010 (UTC)

  10. Per MJ mostly. I don't see the point of having "Star Wars" in front of anything unless it's a necessary part of the title (e.g. The Star Wars Sourcebook or Star Wars Encyclopedia). But I suppose that's a subject for another CT. Xicer9Atgar(Combadge) 19:25, May 31, 2010 (UTC)

  16. Per MJ above. I've always been bothered by the redundancy of the Star Wars moniker over everything. We should include it in all instances or only when not removable (like The Star Wars Roleplaying Game), but let's be consistent one way or the other. ~ SavageBob 17:25, June 4, 2010 (UTC)

      • The fact that something is a lot of work is an entirely moot point; running a great encyclopedia is hard work in general. We should strive for accuracy, not convenience. --Imperialles 09:00, June 5, 2010 (UTC)

  • Out of curiosity, Imp, how vast do you envision this project going? Like... instead of Backlash, should it be Star Wars: Fate of the Jedi: Backlash? I'm not really opposed; just curious. Menkooroo 17:22, May 31, 2010 (UTC)
    • Eh, I think I'll leave novels and the like for now. I don't intend to extend this beyond reference material and RPG sourcebooks any time soon. --Imperialles 17:26, May 31, 2010 (UTC)
  • As shown by JSarek, the site itself isn't consistent. I frankly don't support either option. I want to go with whatever the actual name of the product is, according to some reputable source. Assuming cargobay is the only official source out there (which it's probably not), I would go with whatever name they listed.     • Well, the actual names are on the covers. We've just never actually used them. The big STAR WARS bit is actually part of the title... except, I must point out, for the early Han and Lando adventure books... Thefourdotelipsis 12:42, June 2, 2010 (UTC)
