A variety of Layout Guide tweaks, many of them arising from the sweep. Thanks to spooky, OOM and Imp for help on the wording. Cade Calrayn 20:24, 20 July 2025 (UTC)

Vote #1: Non-canon BTS wording
Formally codifying an oddity that's arisen with the sweeps; having the NCA header name used more than once can cause weird parsing issues, and it makes sense to unique-ify the LG-mandated section headers.
Adding the following bullet point to the "Non-canon material" section of the Layout Guide's Behind the Scenes section:
- If a dedicated subsection of the Behind the scenes section is necessary to cover non-canon content, that section may not be titled "Non-canon appearances" or "Non-canon sources" and should instead be titled Non-canon content or similar, so as to avoid collisions with the Non-canon appearances and Non-canon sources subsections of the Appearances and Sources sections.

Vote #2: Non-canon Appearances tweaks
So this is several things that have been precedent for a while; namely, that non-canon articles don't need to use the NCA/NCS headers, the usage of the {{Nc}}/{{Ncm}}/{{Ncs}} templates, and the distinction between a non-canonical work and a non-canon inclusion in a canon/Legends work.
Updating the Non-canon appearances subsection of the Appearances to the following: (bolded text is new)
- If an article's subject is considered canonical to the canon or Legends continuities, but it appears or is mentioned in non-canon narrative media, those works should be listed in a subsection of the Appearances section titled "Non-canon appearances." However, articles whose subjects are considered non-canonical should instead list all relevant narrative media directly in the Appearances section.
- This subsection will list appearances in non-canon works by real-world publication date instead of in-universe chronological order (example: William Shakespeare's The Merry Rise of Skywalker: Star Wars Part the Ninth will come before LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga).
- If an article's appearance in an otherwise canon work is considered non-canonical, such as easter eggs or cases where a later work has rendered the subject's inclusion non-canon, it should be listed in the Appearances section with the {{Nc}} or {{Ncm}} as appropriate. (example: Simon the Ewok's appearance in Star Wars: Galactic Battlegrounds)
- If an article's only appearances are in non-canon media, but the article itself is considered canonical, the Non-canon appearances subheader should still be used as a subsection of the Appearances section.
- This section will not list unlicensed Star Wars "parody" projects that were created entirely or primarily outside of Lucasfilm's purview, such as Family Guy: "Blue Harvest," and Spaceballs.

Vote #3: Non-canon Sources tweaks
Same as above; updating the Non-canon sources subsection of the Sources section to the following: (bolded text is new)
- If an article's subject is considered canonical to the canon or Legends continuities, but it appears or is mentioned in non-canon narrative media, inclusions in non-canon sources, such as LEGO activity and reference books, should be listed in a subsection of the Sources section titled "Non-canon sources." However, articles whose subject is considered non-canonical should instead list all relevant reference works directly in the Sources section.
- If an article's appearance in an otherwise canon work is considered non-canonical, such as easter eggs or cases where another work has rendered the subject's inclusion non-canon, it should be listed in the Sources section with the {{Ncs}} template. (example: Yarael Poof's appearance in Jedi of the Republic – Mace Windu 5, which is set during the Clone Wars and thus after his death.)
- If an article's only appearances are in non-canon media, but the article itself is considered canonical, the Non-canon appearances subheader should still be used as the subsection of the Appearances section.
- This subsection will list non-canon sources chronologically by real-world publication date.

Vote #4: Non-narrative video games
Following up on Forum:SH:Non-narrative video games; adding the following as the second bullet point of the Sources section:
- Video games that are non-narrative in nature, with a few exceptions, should be listed in the Sources section of an article. Examples include educational games like Star Wars Math: Jabba's Game Galaxy, arcade and sandbox games such as Star Wars: X-wing Fighter and Star Wars Galaxy of Adventures: Fearless Flyers, and puzzle games such as Carbon Connection. However, a small number of non-narrative video games that span multiple eras are exceptions to this rule; please see the Appearances section above for the list of qualifying games.
and adjusting the first bullet point of the Appearances section:
- Bulleted list of films, novels, comics, cartoons, roleplaying adventures, and narrative games that the subject has appeared in
and adding the video game list from above to Appearances as well, with the following header bullet:
- While non-narrative video games are included in Sources rather than Appearances, the following non-narrative video games are exceptions to this rule:
- Star Wars: Force Arena — a multiplayer battle arena game that spans multiple eras; should be listed at the start of the Appearances section.
- Star Wars: Galactic Defense — a tower defense game that spans multiple eras, with missions that take place during the various films; should be listed at the start of the Appearances section.
- Star Wars: Starfighter Missions — a flight shooter game that features various battles from throughout the Star Wars saga; should be listed at the start of the Appearances section.
- Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes — while a sandbox game, the game is considered to be a representation of an in-universe hologame that includes both canon and Star Wars Legends content and is set after the events of the sequel trilogy, and thus should be listed at the end of the Appearances section.
