This is a rather simple proposal: that field entitled "listedpronouns" be added in a field above the "nationality" field and below the "birth" or "death" field (whenever applicable) in {{Person}}. Proposal based on Forum:SH:Gender and Pronouns for Real-world Individuals.

Additionally, the following clause will be added to {{Person}}'s page:
"The "listedpronouns" field of the infobox will only be filled if the individual in question has publicly self-identified their pronouns and a valid source is provided."

Additionally, the following comment will be included in the "listedpronouns" field, in the preload for the template:
"Only include pronouns if they have been explicitly specified by the individual to which this article pertains."

  • Is it possible to only have this present when the individual lists their pronouns themselves? Such as in a twitter bio and the like. NBDani TeamFireballLogo-Collider(they/them)Yeager's Repairs 22:22, 19 February 2023 (UTC)
  • What measures would be taken to prevent the vandalism we've seen with articles for mere fictional characters? We're talking about real people for this and some of them follow edits to their articles (to be advised of vandalism, for instance). I know of one person who was asked how they'd feel about this and they were in favor, but I'm not sure if anyone else has been approached and if they raised any concerns.     • Most of the changes made to the proposal of this CT thus far have been made according to Discord discussion pertaining to this specific issue - specifically, changing the field from "pronouns" to "listedpronouns," and the clause on the template's own page regarding self-identification. Another proposed change, which I will likely be adding as an addendum, is an additional clarification of the aforementioned clause as a comment in the template's "listedpronouns" field itself. It is also being discussed what sources would be considered "valid" when listing pronouns. Including pronouns can be a double-edged sword I admit, as it can help prevent misgendering for some individuals we have articles for, but as you mentioned it could also promote vandalism of the field, or as others have mentioned some good faith edits could even result in misgendering and thus be harmful. Any other changes or corrections to help prevent vandalism that anyone has suggestions for are more than welcome given all of this. - Thannus (DFaceG) (he/him) (talk) 03:57, 20 February 2023 (UTC)
