Currently, the infoboxes and articles for real-world individuals do not include mentions of their gender or preferred pronouns. I believe that we should denote these, primarily for the sake of ensuring that our information is accurate to their identity and accessible to those reading about them. If anyone would prefer that we instead only denote one or the other, please say so and we can discuss it further.
Should we denote gender in specific, we should be careful to refrain from using gender as a noun for individuals to avoid objectifying them via their gender; instead it should be used in an adjective manner.
This is the shortest SH I've written in some time but there isn't really a need for it to be any less concise. - Thannus (DFaceG) (he/him) (talk) 17:28, 31 January 2023 (UTC)

Fully agree! There are likely multiple creators and people involved with Star Wars that have made their pronouns known! Alyssa Wong is the first person who comes to mind! —SnowedLightning (they/them) 17:36, 31 January 2023 (UTC)
- a pronouns field would help to prevent misinformation about an IRL person's identity and help editors in refering to IRL people. I'm not so sure about a gender field? maybe some other users can argue for or against it before I make up my mind Editoronthewiki (talk) 17:39, 31 January 2023 (UTC)
- I'm not as certain about a gender field for IRL individuals either but I can see it having use. Pronouns I see being more necessary. - Thannus (DFaceG) (he/him) (talk) 18:00, 31 January 2023 (UTC)
- I think a pronoun field is a good idea but a gender field is a not a good idea. People may not want to label their gender or not have words for their gender(s) and while it would be relatively simple for most real people to get pronouns (though this may change, so we should try to make sure our source is as recent as possible), gender is going to be much more difficult to source. If we do have a source that states someone's gender, that can be included in the intro/body, I think. Dropbearemma

- Yeah I think this would be the best idea. - Thannus (DFaceG) (he/him) (talk) 21:01, 3 February 2023 (UTC)
- Agreed, that makes sense. We don't need to know a person's gender, whereas pronouns would prove more useful for readers. Also, of course if someone doesn't want their pronouns listed or requests a pronouns change then we should accomodate that. OOM 224 (he/him) 21:05, 3 February 2023 (UTC)
- I would support pronouns, but not gender. As Emma noted, people may not want to label their gender. We should also keep in mind that in the past, we have seen people use us as an excuse to continue misgendering individuals, under the guise of what we had listed, causing harm to people.
