The result of the debate was Oppose proposal. Toprawa and Ralltiir (talk) 05:57, July 20, 2014 (UTC)
So I was discussing this in The New Hope thread and I was told that this kind of decision must come to a vote.
I have noticed a lot of articles are choosing to edit articles that have Legends material and creating a separate /Canon article for the new canon. This has allowed people to browse the site without having to worry about running into Legends territory. However, the movie articles have been labeled Canon even though they contain Legends additions, i.e. the lead up to the secret plans getting to Leia.
What I am proposing for a vote is that we add the Legends moniker to the original article and than edit out the Legends content and create a /Canon article for the movies. I believe it will make the site easier to make additions in the future for canon Movie adjustments and will allow for easier continuity for Canonites. If people do want to keep the original page canon, we could alternate it by having the original remain canon and make a /Legend page added instead. I leave my proposal up to you for a vote. thank you for your time. --Timothy Orr (talk) 19:14, July 12, 2014 (UTC)

I would point out to detractors related to the 121 episodes of The Clone Wars, those are all considered canon in their entirety just as everything within the movies is canon. What I'm proposing is purely to remove the Legends links to books and otherwise. For the Clone Wars series the only thing that will be needed in the future is to link the characters to the canon pages not create a seperate tab.Timothy Orr (talk) 19:24, July 12, 2014 (UTC) (Vote struck due to user not meeting voting requirements (less than 50 mainspace edits). Oppose
- I don't think we need to split pages for out-of-universe articles. This wouldn't just apply to the six films, it would also have to apply to The Clone Wars film and the 121 episodes of The Clone Wars TV series. That's unnecessary duplication. The real problem is that the film pages are a total mess, and need to be cleaned up—with more clarity as to what's canon and what's Legends. - Brandon Rhea(talk) 18:46, July 12, 2014 (UTC)
- I'm also not a fan of it. Yes, the current canon pages for the real-world topics are somewhat problematic right now because of the issues described, but it's just a matter of getting it all cleaned up. It's a big job, but if we all work together, we can get it done. Splitting up out-of-universe articles would just create an unnecessary level of confusion and work. - This is precisely why I added the new c- and l- fields for each field in the {{App}} template (i.e. c-characters & l-characters). Cade

Discussion
It seems my thoughts are not popular with the majority. I guess that's why we have forums like this. So out of curiosity was their another plan to add something to the effect of maybe a Non-canon banner over the areas that are Legend or is the consensus that we are just going to have to deal with a little Legend stuff in the canon movie section?--Timothy Orr (talk) 03:10, July 13, 2014 (UTC)
- I personally would support a banner, similar to {{Noncanonstart}} and {{Noncanonend}}. For example, in the "Background" and "Aftermath" section of the Synopsis on the Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope page, that template could be there. - Brandon Rhea(talk) 03:24, July 13, 2014 (UTC)
