- "This is the Forge. It is the heart of Mandalorian culture. Just as we shape the Mandalorian steel, we shape ourselves. We all begin as raw ore. We refine ourselves through trials and adversity. The Forge can reveal weaknesses."
- ―The Armorer to Grogu
The Armorer in her Forge
The Forge was a workshop used by Mandalorian Armorers to shape the Mandalorian steel, also known as beskar. It was the heart of the Mandalorian culture, and could reveal weaknesses and memories of the past.[1]
The Armorer used a workshop[2] in 9 ABY[3] within the Mandalorian covert[2] on the Outer Rim[4] planet Nevarro. Using the cryo-furnace and her many tools within the workshop, such as a gravity hammer and magnetic tongs, the Armorer constructed Mandalorian armor[5] and whistling birds.[6]
The covert, including the workshop within, was left abandoned following the massacre of the Tribe members.[7] Some time later, what remained of the workshop was taken over by Aqualish thieves. The thieves were promptly vanquished when they were attacked by Cara Dune, the acting marshal of Nevarro, leaving the workshop vacant once more.[8]
Sometime later, the Armorer set a new workshop in a covert on Glavis Ringworld, where she reforged a beskar spear into Grogu's chainmail shirt.[9] She later moved her workshop to another covert on a different planet.[10] Mandalore contained a special forge known as the Great Forge.[11]

- ↑ Star Wars: Timelines dates the events of "Chapter 1: The Mandalorian" of The Mandalorian Season One to 9 ABY. In addition,
"A Certain Point of View" — Star Wars Insider 228 also dates "Part Seven: Dreams and Madness" to nine years after the events of Star Wars: Episode IV A New Hope, which corresponds to 9 ABY per Timelines. "Part Seven: Dreams and Madness" takes place after the conflict on Mandalore, which is the main event depicted in "Chapter 23: The Spies" and "Chapter 24: The Return," the final two episodes of The Mandalorian Season Three. Therefore, Seasons One through Three of Star Wars: The Mandalorian must all be set in 9 ABY as well.
