Firebugs were a type of nesting insect.[1] In 9 BBY,[2] Jedi-in-hiding Bode Akuna described Jedi Knight Cal Kestis as having "kicked the firebug nest" after Kestis slew Rayvis, leader of the Bedlam Raiders, during a mission to the planet Koboh's Shattered Moon.[1]

Behind the scenes

In the current Star Wars canon, firebugs were mentioned during a cutscene in the 2023 Respawn Entertainment video game Star Wars Jedi: Survivor.[1] The insects originated in the Star Wars Legends continuity, where they were mentioned in "Special Ops: Ship Jackers," a Star Wars: The Roleplaying Game article written by John Beyer and Kathy Burdette and published in Star Wars Adventure Journal 13 in May 1997.[3]
