"Well, that was a good one, in any case. Found a new path between Pasaana and Urber. Should reduce travel time by a third, maybe more."
―Mari San Tekka, to Marchion Ro[4]

Urber was an astronomical object in the Outer Rim Territories' Videnda sector. In 232 BBY, the hyperspace prospector Mari San Tekka mapped a hyperspace route between Urber and the Expansion Region planet Pasaana. When she informed her kidnapper, Eye of the Nihil Marchion Ro, of the route, he promised her he would reach out to supposed Galactic Republic buyers about it.

Description

Urber was an astronomical object located in the Outer Rim Territories[1] and the Western Reaches'[2] Videnda sector, within the Urber system.[3] It was situated in grid square L-18 of the Standard Galactic Grid. A hyperspace route connected it to the Dolla system and[1] the planet[4] Eriadu.[1]

During the High Republic Era, the hyperspace prospector Mari San Tekka—who had been kidnapped by the family of the Eye of the Nihil Marchion Ro—was made to locate unconventional hyperspace routes known as Paths for the Nihil marauder group.[4] In 232 BBY,[5] she mapped a route between Urber and[4] the Expansion Region planet[6] Pasaana aboard Ro's flagship, the Gaze Electric, that she theorized would cut travel time by at least one third.[4]

San Tekka, believing she still worked as a prospector and that Ro sold her Paths to the Galactic Republic, informed the Eye of the route when he required her service. Although Ro did not need the route at that time, he instructed her to store it in his starship's central database and thanked San Tekka, claiming he would reach out to buyers.[4]

Behind the scenes

Urber was first mentioned in the 2021 novel The High Republic: Light of the Jedi, written by Charles Soule[4] as part of the Star Wars: The High Republic multimedia project's Phase I.[7]
