Unidentified shuttle pilot (Resistance)

The title of this article is conjectural. Although this article is based on canonical information, the actual name of this subject is pure conjecture.

An individual served as a pilot for the Resistance, and in 34 ABY, was the captain of shuttle two, one of three shuttles carrying Resistance recruits off the First Order controlled planet Dantooine. When the shuttles attempted to escape the planet while being escorted by Ace and Jade Squadrons, they were attacked by a squadron of TIE fighters. Shuttle two was shot, and the pilot reported that their hyperdrive was damaged. Shortly after, the pilot reported that their hyperdrive would soon be fixed, but their shuttle was then shot down, killing those aboard.

Biography

An individual was a pilot for the Resistance during its war with the First Order.^[2] In 34 ABY,^[1] the pilot served as the captain of a Resistance shuttle designated shuttle two, one of three shuttles carrying Resistance recruits off the First Order controlled planet Dantooine. When the Resistance's Jade Squadron and their ally Ace Squadron arrived above Dantooine to escort the shuttles past the First Order's blockade, the pilot launched shuttle two alongside the other Resistance shuttles and approached their escort. Before the Resistance ships could reach escape altitude, a squadron of TIE fighters was dispatched to destroy the shuttles. The two sides engaged in combat, with shuttle two eventually being shot by a TIE fighter, hitting its hyperdrive.^[2]

Ace pilot Torra Doza asked for the captain's status, and they responded it would take some time for their damaged hyperdrive to be repaired, then told the other ships they would need to leave without them, with part of their reply being cut off by static. Doza told the pilot they would buy them time for their hyperdrive to be repaired. Soon after, when Doza asked for an update on the shuttle's hyperdrive, the pilot responded it would soon be ready, with their reply again coming through spottily. First Order TIE fighter pilot Jace Rucklin then fired on the pilot's shuttle, damaging it further and sending it plummeting toward Dantooine's surface. As the other Resistance ships jumped to hyperspace, Ace pilot Kazuda Xiono watched shuttle two's descent and mourned the deaths of those aboard.^[2]

The pilot appeared, albeit only through voice, in "Rebuilding the Resistance,"^[2] the seventeenth episode of the second season of the Star Wars Resistance animated television series, which aired on January 19, 2020.^[3] The pilot was voiced by Sam Witwer, who also voiced Resistance pilot Hugh Sion in the same episode.^[2]
