The windfarm where Nih lived on Toshara
Nih was a human farmer who lived with her mother at a windfarm in the Lost Steppe region of the Outer Rim moon Toshara during the reign of the Galactic Empire.[1] By 3 ABY,[2] she wanted to leave the farm to work in Mirogana, the moon's capital city. However her mother was against her relocation and instead wanted Nih to stay away from the Empire, which had a significant presence in the city.[1] By the same year,[2] an individual named Diran had planned to take a group of people, including Nih, with them to leave Toshara in order to escape the Empire. Three days before Diran planned to leave, they wrote a data message about their plans, in which they noted that they believed that Nih would need more convincing to leave Toshara. A datapad containing the message was left at the windfarm[1] by 3 ABY.[2]
In 3 ABY,[2] Nih and her mother were arguing about Nih working in Mirogana when the scoundrel Kay Vess was passing by and her mother requested Vess's opinion as an outsider on the disagreement. After explaining the situation, and stating their desire to keep their daughter away from the Empire, the mother once again asked Nih to remain at the farm one more season. The disagreement left Vess with a choice to either recommend that Nih stay or leave.[1] During the same year,[2] Vess found the datapad that detailed Diran's plans for Nih.[1]
Personality and traits
- "Exactly. And this moon, our history, is worth fighting for."
"I understand, Nih. Believe me. But the path you're on is dangerous. I don't want you getting hurt." - ―Nih talking with her mother.
Nih was a human female with black hair, blue eyes, and tan skin. She cared about Tosharan history.[1]
Equipment
While arguing with her mother in[1] 3 ABY,[2] Nih wore a red vest over a red shirt and blue skirt over red pants. She also wore brown gloves, black boots, a blue scarf and a brown utility belt.[1]
Behind the scenes
Nih appeared in the 2024 video game Star Wars Outlaws, which was developed by Massive Entertainment and published by Ubisoft. In the game, she appears as part of an optional conversation the player can choose to have while at the windfarm on Toshara. During the conversation, the player has two options: either tell Nih to stay at the farm for another season or to go to Mirogana. Neither choice affects the outcome of the game's story. Nih is identified by the game's subtitles as simply "farmer," but her name is specified within actual conversation.[1]
