Qorvino's cave hideout also known as the Crash Site was a cave located on the jungle planet Akiva that was used by the pirate Qorvino to raid the Imperial supply lanes along the Hydian Way.
Description
An cave located long a waterway near the Delma Water Tower in the Karaba Foothills region of the jungle planet Akiva. The cave had two entrances and had a raised ledge inside.
History
During the Imperial Era, the pirate Qorvino and his gang began using the cave while raiding the Imperial supply lanes along the Hydian Way. They eventually relocated their hideout to an island on Lake Amari in the Great Basin region of Akiva. Before leaving a member of Qorvino's pirates named Maj Aba left a message on a datapad in the cave intended for Hella, Qorvino's child, who had previously left the group. In the message Aba told Hella that they were right to leave and that Aba was also leaving the gang. Aba included the coordinates for the island base in case Hella wanted to see Qorvino again.[1]
In 3 ABY,[2] the thief Kay Vess began tracking down after Qorvino after learning that he was in possession of a starmap with the coordinates to the Great Tomb of the Khepi which was rumored to contain great treasure. To that end, Vess accessed an Imperial report on piracy stored at Research Station 57 on Akiva which included the coordinates to the cave hideout. When she later arrived at the cave she discovered a group of bandits were also looking for Qorvino's starmap. She eventually discovered the datapad with the message intended for Hella and followed to the coordinates to the island hideout where she found the starmap.
During the same year,[2] Vess recovered the materials required to apply a Wildland finish to her EML-850 light freighter, the Trailblazer from a ledge in the cave.[1]
Behind the scenes
Qorvino's cave hideout was appeared in the 2024 Massive Entertainment video game Star Wars Outlaws published by Ubisoft.[1] Though it wasn't until the "A Pirate's Fortune" expansion which was released on May 15, 2025[3] that the cave was identified as such. Before the expansion the cave was identified as the "Crash Site" on the games map and only contained the "Wildland Finish" paint scheme that players could collect to customize the appearance of their starship.[1]
