Preebans was a repair shop operated by the Weequay Preeban on the planet Cantonica during the reign of the Galactic Empire.[1]

Description

Preebans was a circular building located in the South Stretch Worker's District of the city Canto Bight on the planet Cantonica. It had a trapezoidal entrance which led into a large circular room with another door that led elsewhere in the building. A sign to the left of the entrance featured the store's name was written vertically in Huttese over an image of the Weequay owner.[1]

History

"Preeban! We know you helped Kay. Open up. You want to live? Tell us where she is! Delphis knows you sold her the plans. You can't hide, Preeban! You're making it worse for youself. We got your shop and now you got nowhere to run. Preeban!"

By 3 ABY,[2] the store had a number of droids in various states of repair spreed around the circumference of the shops inner room, including R5-series astromech droids, GNK-series power droids and a protocol droid. By the time of the Canto Cup Fathier racing tournament[1] that year,[1] the thief Kay Vess had convinced Preeban to sell her the plans to Club Tarsus, an night club operated by the local Sixth Kin crime gang, as well as the location of the gang's vault inside club.[1]

During the Canto Cup, Vess showed up at Preebans in order to get her broken data spike repaired so she could use it to break into club and steal a forged identicard from the vault. Fearing that the Sixth Kin would realized that they had sold Vess the plans, Preeban was initially reluctant to help Vess but eventually agreed after she paid them 150 credits and promised that they would never see her again. Preeban's fears proved accurate after Vess triggered an alarm during her robbery and a group of Sixth Kin enforcers came the shop, with one of the enforcers began threatening Preeban, telling the Weequay to come out and tell them where Vess had gone.[1]

Behind the scenes

Preebans appeared for the video game Star Wars Outlaws which was developed by Massive Entertainment and published by Ubisoft.[1] Prior to the game's release on August 30, 2024,[3] the shop was pictured in the game's "Official Teaser | Summer Game Fest 2024" trailer which was released on June 7, 2024.[4]
